Lois Mcdonald Landry

Lois May McDonald Landry, (born May 2, 1929 and died November 1, 2014) passed away peacefully at home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Lois was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. Beloved wife of the late Harold J. Landry. Mother of Ricky P. Landry, Sr. (Kim Bouvier) and Randy J. Landry (Kim Lee). Grandmother of Ricky P. Landry Jr. (Casey), Duane Varnado, Ryan J. Landry and Jessica Lee Landry. Great Grandmother of Jordan and Race Landry, Skye and Dawson Varnado. Preceded in death by her parents, Ivy McDonald Sr and Josephine Plaisance McDonald and her brother, Ivy McDonald Jr. Surviving siblings are Raymond McDonald and Ronald McDonald. Retired from the State of Louisiana Department of Welfare and a substitute teacher in Jefferson Parish. She enjoyed many wonderful times at her camp fishing, crabbing, and trawling. She had a love for cooking and wanted her family to be with her always. She was a very giving person. You did not leave her house without something to take home and she shared her recipes with everyone. She loved her casino trips with many old friends and made so many new friends. Mom, you will forever live in our hearts and memories. Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to her care givers Egan Medical Staffing LLC and Notre Dame Hospice. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11am.
