Lois Lee Hammett Penton

Lois Lee Hammett Penton entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Abner Penton for 65 years. Mother of Keith Penton, Kathy Treadaway (Danny), and Scott Penton. Grandmother of Shannon, Abbi (Chris), Katie, Amber (Kyle), Lana, Joey, Alexis, Scott, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Alvin Hammett and Helen Maude Wantland Hammett. Sister of the late Ruth Kelly, Shirley Daniels, and Corrine Rowbatham. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 92 years, a native of Globe, AZ and lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. Lois graduated from Gretna High School. She and Abner raised their family in Gretna, and owned and operated their restaurant, Penton’s Seafood in Poplarville, MS near their farm. In her spare-time she was an avid bowler and proud of her perfect all spare game with a score of 200. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren play from her front porch. She will be deeply missed by all.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:30 PM.
