Lois Bergeron Rodriguez, born on September 25, 1939 in Marrero, left behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories. On February 14th, 2024, she gained her wings surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. Lois peacefully departed from this world. She was known as a kind and caring individual who touched the hearts of many.
Lois will be remembered for her deep love for her family and her special bond with her daughter. One of her cherished memories was her 50th wedding anniversary trip to Tennessee with her husband, daughter and late son-in-law Roy “Pompe” Guidry Jr. She also loved spending time in Mississippi with her daughter creating memories that would be treasured forever. Her devotion to her family was unmatched, bringing them much joy and happiness.
Cooking was not only a hobby for Lois, but also a passion that brought immense pleasure to her life. She delighted in experimenting with new recipes and watching cooking programs. Her delicious creations will forever be missed, but will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to taste them.
Lois' warmth and compassion extended beyond the kitchen as she had a heart full of love for everyone around her. Lois held deep appreciation for the simple joys in life and always found beauty in the smallest things. Her ability to find joy in the ordinary serves as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
In Lois' journey through life, she was supported by an incredible network of loved ones. She is survived by her loving husband Wally Rodriguez, who stood by her side throughout their beautiful journey together. Together they shared countless memories and embraced life's challenges as a united force.
Lois also leaves behind her daughter Paddy Guidry and her daughter’s significant other Michael Spry, who were the pride and joy of her life and could always put a smile on her face. Her unconditional love for them was evident in every word and action. She cherished the moments spent with them, imparting wisdom, and nurturing their spirits with tenderness. She was preceded in death by her other daughter Penny Rodriguez, who she was still grieving.
In addition to her immediate family, Lois leaves behind a sister Gloria Plaisance (Roland.) She is preceded in death by her brother Gerald “Moose” Bergeron Sr., she adored her siblings. They were more than siblings; they were lifelong confidantes who shared many remarkable moments together. The bond between siblings is unbreakable, and Lois cherished that bond. Lois also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, a host of family and dear friends who were like sisters to her.
Lois' parents were Eunice Lopez Bergeron, her mother, and Wiley "Black" Bergeron, her father. She carried their values with her throughout her life.
As we mourn the loss of such an incredible soul, let us also celebrate Lois's life and the profound impact she had on our lives. Her compassion, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her spirit soar freely as we remember the joy she brought into our lives.
In honor of Lois Bergeron Rodriguez's memory, the family will have a small private memorial service. Family and friends are welcome to share stories of how Lois touched their lives with her warmth and love. She was an exceptional woman whose legacy will forever live on in our hearts.
