Lois Ernestine Clouate Vial
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling, LA for Lois Clouate Vial, age 86. Lois died at 5:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2015, surrounded by family at her residence in River Ridge. Visitation will be the same day at Holy Family Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
Reverend John M. Perino, Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and services. Lectors and Giftbearers will be her grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
Lois was the youngest child of Adam and Virginia Sarrah Clouate, born in Killona on September 2, 1929. She was a graduate of Hahnville High School and Spencer Business College in New Orleans. Lois married Adrian “Pete” Vial on June 14, 1950 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Taft. Their 35 year marriage was filled with love and her home was a warm and joyful place.
Survivors include five children, twelve grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren:
• Children - Valerie A. Butler (Chuck), Adrian G. Vial, Jr. (Anette), Rebecca L. Gomez (Jerry) all of Luling, Laurie M. Wilkerson (Gary) of Lafayette, and Robert D. Vial of Baton Rouge
• Grandchildren - Dameian Curtin, Devon Sellers, Erica Sellers, Justin Vial, Alexis Vial, Mason Vial, Brock Gomez, Jeri Gomez, Adrienne Wilkerson, Claire Wilkerson, Reed Vial, and Ryland Vial
• Great-Grandchildren - Marigny and Bellamy Curtin; Aiden and Marly Zeringue
She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian George “Pete” Vial, Sr.; her parents Adam and Virginia Sarrah Clouate of Killona; her siblings Dennis Clouate, Leah Dufresne, Bernice Madere, Adam Clouate, Jr., and Rosiema Oubre; and her great-grandson Caleb Curtin.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Francis Villa, her home for the last 10 years. She was lovingly cared for by her personal caregivers, Diana, Rene, Valencia, and Demira.
