Lois Lauland Walk

Lois Lauland Walk, a lifelong resident and native of Algiers, born December 23, 1928 passed away March 4, 2014. She was the mother of Darlene Marie Walk and almost mother of Carolyn Kuehling. Lois was the daughter of the late Lucille Boudreaux and Wallace Lauland; the grand daughter of the late Corrine Daigle and Albert Lauland and Angele Daigle and Thomas Boudreaux; the twin sister of the late Lloyd Lauland and the mother of the late Donna Elizabeth Walk and Catherine Anne Walk. Lois was a graduate of Holy Name of Mary Elementary School and Behrman High School. She was an employee of Whitney National Bank for 40 years, retiring as Head Teller. She was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, the Catholic Daughters, AARP Algiers Chapter, Ladies Auxiliary American Legion and former group Magnolias. Since her retirement she was an avid lace maker and cross stitcher. The family would like to thank Dr. Jamie Kuo and the Emergency Room Nurses at Ochsner Medical Center-Westbank. In lieu of flowers, please consider Masses in memory of Lois. A visitation will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Eliza Street, Algiers, LA on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 12 Noon until 2PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church on Saturday at 2PM. Interment will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
