Lolita J. Romaguera

March 27, 1948 — September 15, 2013

"Beloved mother and sister, Lolita J. Romaguera, entered into eternal rest on September 15, 2013, at the age of 65. She was a longtime resident of Harvey, Louisiana. She was a graduate of West Jefferson High School class of 1966, where she was the Band Director. She was also a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans College of Music and was a professional musician. She was known for her boisterous spirit, her sense of humor, her inner strength, her expert culinary skills, and her dedication to her children. Although she was taken from us much too soon, she ultimately succumbed to her long-time battle with multiple sclerosis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Larry Romaguera. She is survived by her oldest daughter, Jennifer Rodriguez; her son, Jonathan Rodriguez; her brother and sister-in-law, Dominic and Ruth Romaguera and two nieces, Rachel and Alexandra Romaguera; and her sister Phyllis Romaguera.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life at Mothe Funeral Homes, located at 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey on Friday, September 20, 2013. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 1:00 pm. Internment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, located at 1225 Whitney Avenue in Gretna. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National MS Society at www.nationalmssociety.org .
