Louis C. Babin

Louis C. “Louie/Baloolie” Babin, Jr., age 80 of Scottsdale passed peacefully at Hospice of the Valley on Friday, July 8, 2011. He was born December 13, 1930 in Plaquemine, Louisiana. He traveled the world with the Merchant Marines from the age of 16 until his retirement. Forty-six years later, he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Louis did volunteer work for Senior Center Scottsdale, Guys and Dolls, Brown Bagging for St. Mary’s Food Bank at Vista Del Camino and helped at Holy Spirit Church. He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Hebert (Lester), Selma Mock (Don) and Alexina “Cina” Evans (Gene). He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Memorial Graveside services will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, LA on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 9AM.
