Lt. Jamie David Monfra

It is with great sadness that the family announces that Lt. Jamie David Monfra, age 44 passed away on August 14, 2013. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was the beloved husband of 10 years to Stacy Saltalamachia Monfra. Devoted and loving father of Stefani Alysa Monfra and Jillian Delanie Monfra. Son of Patricia Camardelle Monfra and the late Salvador Monfra, Sr. Brother of Susan Monfra Vezain and husband Scott, Joan Monfra Dugas and husband Kerry and Sal Monfra Jr. and wife Suzanne. Uncle of Jennifer, Gabriel, Megan, Olivia, Jeffery, Kristin, Amy, Candence, Allison, Holly, Taylor, Anthony III, Jacob and Bryce. Son-in-law of Karen and Anthony Saltalamachia. Brother-in-law of Kelly Lyons and husband Jason and Anthony Saltalamachia, Jr. and wife Jane. Jamie graduated from Immaculate Conception School and Archbishop Shaw High School. A 24 year veteran of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, he served 14 years in the 2nd district Patrol Division before joining the L.A.S.E.R Division in 2003 where he has been Commander since 2004. He was a certified HDS Bomb Technician and he was a certified scuba diver. He recently completed the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA. J.D. resided in Carriere, Mississippi and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Picayune. He will always be loved and sadly missed by his family, friends and co-workers all of whom we extend many thanks for all of their help. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to help with Stefani and Jillian, his children’s education. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 9AM until 12:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7th Street, Marrero, LA on Monday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
