Lucille Buras Bernard, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, age 87 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Paul E. Bernard. Daughter of the late Frank Buras and Verna Smith Buras. Loving mother of Paula B. Buras (Gene), Darlene B. Boudet (Henry) and Stacey B. Dugar. Great Grandmother of Paul Buras (Melissa), Gena B. Bubrig (Bill), Chad Buras (Brooke), Courtney Lirette (Toby), Bernard Boudet, Christine Boudet, Jacob Dugar (Betsy) and Brittney Lansou (Brian). Also survived by 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Sister of Elwood Buras (the late Gloria), Mercedes Broussard (Hester), Glenda Cedotal (James), Leander Buras (Linda), Vera Dean (the late Bill) and the late Bertrand Buras (survived by Agnes), Irvin Buras, Hazel Smith (the late Marcus), Esther Loga (the late Ellis) and Myrtle Buras. Lucille was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. She was an employee of Plaquemines Parish Government for 19 years. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Staff of Serenity Hospice, especially her nurse, Marva for the love and care given. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 11AM until 2PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Monday at 2PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
