Lucille Fischer Price

Lucille Virginia Fischer Price passed away on June 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on Mother's Day, May 14, 1944, the only child born to James J Fischer and Lucille Bultmann Fischer. Born and raised in the Irish Channel, she graduated from Redemptorist High School Class Of 1962. She was introduced by her friend to Hurved A. Price "Herb", a New Orleans Fireman and that is where the story began. Herb said there was no grass in the Irish Channel, so he was taking her to God's Country, Algiers, when they got married on February 13, 1965. They made the Westbank their home and raised their children there. Married for 58 years, they had 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Lucille was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her life revolved around her family. As her children became more independent, she decided to go back to work. She worked at Guaranty Bank & Trust in Gretna and Hibernia National Bank (now Capital One Bank) in New Orleans, until her retirement in May 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents and her adoring husband, Herb Price and is survived by her loving children, Toni P Horvat (Nick), Wade P Price (Jennifer), Jim A. Price, Kristin M. Price, Lauren E. Price (Chris), and is Nanna to her grandchildren, Kyle Cuzzort, Lydia Price, Erik Dugas, Valerie Horvat, Drew Price, Layla Lahr. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Ave., Gretna, LA on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10 AM until 12 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM and interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
