Luther Roland Stevens

Luther Roland Stevens passed away on December 12, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Doris Lee Wood Stevens. Father of Ronald Ray Stevens (Glendora), Perry Wayne Stevens (Billy), the late Charles Gary Stevens and Donald Eugene Stevens. Grandfather of Tanya O’Rourke (John) and Kelli Webber (Brook). Great-grandfather of William and Victoria O’Rourke and Parish Webber. Brother of Terral Erskine Stevens, Juanita Belle Pilcher, Mary Sue League, the late Haden Otis Stevens, Billy Crawford Stevens, Clayton Stevens, Buel Stevens and Elred Stevens. Son of the late Belle Jones Stevens and Julius Clayton Stevens.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was assigned to the 8th Infantry Regiment and fought in Europe and the Rhineland, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Among other awards, he earned the EAME (European-African-Middle Eastern) Campaign ribbon with two bronze service stars.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
