Lynn B. Clement, born October 20th, 1938, in New Orleans passed away peacefully in his home in the early morning hours of September 9th, 2023, with his sons Gregg and Michael by his side. Lynn was 84. As a child, Lynn grew up in McDonoughville, graduated from St. Aloysius High School in New Orleans and served our Country admirably in the U.S. Army. Upon his return to civilian life, he chose Belle Chasse as his home where he raised his family and became very active in his faith community at OLPH church and school. He was a Charter member in the local Council of the Knights of Columbus. Lynn was honored for the contributions of his time and talents in service to his community receiving the Order of St. Louis IX Award; awarded by the church for his Christlike service to his church community. As he was instrumental in bringing the KCs to the OLPH community, he also enjoyed coaching youth football for OLPH, winning numerous championships as a coach for his three sons and youths in the community. You would often find Lynn in OLPH Church praying the rosary. In retirement, he prayed the rosary daily before mass. He enjoyed sharing his deep Catholic Faith with the community and prayed the rosary till the end. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Bernice and Mirle Clement and his brother Bernis Clement. Lynn is survived by his wife of more than 60 years Meralee, his three sons Stephen (Angie), Gregg (Robin), and Michael, 5 grandchildren, Sarah (Mark), Morgan(Ian), (Patti), Brent, Kelsey, Daniel (Angie) and two great grandchildren Anne and John, along with three step grandchildren Lauren (Adam), Lindsey, and Leanne (Shay). and 3 great step grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Judy Hesni (George), niece Lauren (Don), cousins Wayne (Kay), Gary (Debbie), Chris (Shantelle) and Carey (Toni). Lynn was an avid LSU fan and Alum “by choice.”  As a businessperson, he was a founding member and president of the Louisiana Heat Pump Association for years while managing his company and providing for his workers and his family. He operated a successful HVAC business for more than 50 years before retiring to devote his time to his passion as a Rosarian; Lynn was a member of the New Orleans Rose Society and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge of and passion for the art of successfully growing roses in the difficult climate of the south. He frequently won awards for his roses and hosted gatherings in his rose gardens for the public to enjoy the beautiful display and aroma of the roses in bloom. Lynn was featured in a June 6, 2018, article of The Advocate acknowledging his quarter century of growing roses in his garden which had nearly 400 rose bushes. He often brought bouquets from his garden to special occasions and daily when in bloom for he and Meralee. He loved his animals, English Bulldogs, a rescue pup, many Beagles, a couple of Havanese, and Poncho, the family fav Boston Terrier. His family and friends will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
