Manly P. Wilt

Manly P. Wilt passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Beloved husband of Lynda Stephens Wilt for 50 years. Father of Laura W. Castiglione (Louis), Christopher Wilt, and Leah W. Rich (Carl). Grandfather of Justin and Jonathon Castiglione, Chase Wilt, and Carli and Tyler Rich. Son of the late George Wilt, Sr. and Aimee Perez Wilt. Brother of Norman Wilt (Dianne) and the late George Wilt, Jr. Age 71 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Harahan, LA. Manly was raised in Lakeview, LA and graduated from Warren Easton High School in 1961. At age 16 he started his Business Distributive Education Counter Sales for Krauss Ltd. in New Orleans. He enlisted in the US Navy Submarine Division from 1962 until 1965 achieving rank of US Navy Quarter Master 2 SS. He married his best friend Lynda from Macon, GA on July 23, 1965 and they settled in New Orleans. His career included Life Insurance Sales, Retail Credit Investigator, Times Picayune dealership, Westlawn Cemetery Sales becoming Sales Manager, Mothe Life Insurance Sales, and most recently as Mothe Funeral Home location manager. In 2007 Manly and Lynda moved to Allen, TX to be near their children after Hurricane Katrina and returned in 2012. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was most proud of raising three wonderful children. Some of his fondest memories were the swimming pool on Quebrada, and family vacations, Destin, and Disney World, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be from 9 AM until 1:30 PM. Burial will be private. A repast will be held at the home of his son Chris Wilt.
