Margaret J. LaBella passed away peacefully on March 29, 2017 at the age of 68 years. Beloved wife of Sal LaBella Jr. Mother of Christie Griffin Rudolph. Granny of Lyndsey Lynn Rudolph (father, Philip Rudolph). Step-mom to Nancy Ann LaBella and Salvador “Skip” LaBella (Sally). Step-grandmother of Bradley LaBella, Matthew Robinson and Stephanie Robinson. Step-great-grandmother of Meredith and Mason Jones. Sister of Brenda Thomassie, Marion Danos, the late Gail Cheramie and Curtis Terrebonne. Daughter of Ethel Morris Cheramie and Norris Cheramie. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Margaret was a Teacher’s Assistant with Jefferson Parish Public Schools and spent her career at Pittman Elementary and Woodland West Elementary. She retired after 16 years of dedicated service.
With her loving daughter Christie by her side, she was a committed advocate for the fight against ALS. A sweet and gentle soul, she fought the ALS battle with grace and courage for 22 years, a fight that was truly inspirational. She will be sadly missed but her legacy will live on in those who continue the battle against ALS.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 9 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Saturday from 7 AM to 9 AM.
