Margy Labbe Barrilleaux

Margy Labbe’ Barrilleaux peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:12 a.m., in Lockport, Louisiana, at age 84. She was born on January 30, 1940 to the late Eliot Charles Labbe’ and Margaret Armbruster Labbe’. Margy was a lifelong active member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Terrytown, Louisiana and for the past eleven years a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Church in Raceland, Louisiana. She was blessed with a full and vibrant life including traveling and visiting with family and friends. For thirty-five plus years, Margy was the secretary for Time Saver Stores main office and a real estate agent. Her most favorite time of the year was the Mardi Gras season when friends and family would gather at her house to enjoy the parades. Margy was a sister to Eliot Labbe’ Jr. (Linda) and the late Barbara Ruiz (AJ). The greatest joy of her life was raising her four boys, whom she described as “perfect children”: Robert Sr (Bethel), Jesse (Wendy), the late Michael and the late Jon (Lindsay). She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren: Aaron, Adrienne, Katherine Foret (John), Robert Jr (Bethanie), Bethany Waguespack (Chase), Trent (Camilla), Lindsey Purvis (Zach), Jack, and Kate. She was blessed with seven great grandchildren: Robert lll, Peter, Matthew, Frances, Brooks, Carter, and Peyton.Margy was also preceded in death by her former husband, Mervin J. Barrilleaux and companion of thirty-four years, Wesley Olivier. She loved and cherished numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at The Broadway Elder Living Center in Lockport, Louisiana, as well as the caring and compassionate staff of Hope Hospice. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana, 70058, on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Ave, Gretna, Louisiana, 70056.
