Maria Roberta Mejia

Maria Roberta Mejia, born in Pespire, Honduras on May 13, 1933 and entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 91 surrounded by family. Ms. Mejia was a native of the Honduras and has lived in Gretna, LA for over 30 years.

She was the loving mother of Maribel Umanzor, Doris Miranda, Elsa Lezama, Sonia Lezama, Marcos Lezama, Javier Mejía, and Norma Lezama. Loving grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a strong, courageous, fun, loving, and caring woman whose legacy will remain in our hearts and carried on for generations. She left behind a lesson of resilience, hard work, and great love for her family. 

Her funeral services will begin on Friday, March 7th at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and the funeral service will be on Saturday, March 8th at 10:30 am. Interment to immediately follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1255 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA.

María Roberta Mejía, nació en Pespire, Honduras el 13 de mayo de 1933 y entró en el descanso eterno el viernes 28 de febrero de 2025, a la edad de 91 años rodeada de familia. La Sra. Mejía nació en Honduras y ha vivido en Gretna, LA durante más de 30 años.

Fue la amorosa madre de Maribel Umanzor, Doris Miranda, Elsa Lezama, Sonia Lezama, Marcos Lezama, Javier Mejía y Norma Lezama. Abuela amorosa de 18 nietos, 15 bisnietos y 2 tataranietos.

Será recordada como una mujer fuerte, valiente, divertida, amorosa y afectuosa cuyo legado permanecerá en nuestros corazones y continuará durante generaciones. Dejó una lección de resiliencia, trabajo duro y gran amor por su familia.

Sus servicios funerarios comenzarán el viernes 7 de marzo en Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 5:00 pm a 8:00 pm y el funeral será el sábado 8 de marzo a las 10:30 am. El entierro se realizará inmediatamente en Westlawn Memorial Park, 1255 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA.
