Marian Pertuit Diket

Marian Pertuit Diket was born September 4, 1929 and passed away on October 7, 2012.
She is pre-deceased by parents Alvin & Mildred Hebert Pertuit, sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn Pertuit Gaudin (Calvin); loving husband, Stanley H. Diket; daughter Karen Diket Hebert; grandchildren Catherine Kiffe, Stanley Fussell and Ryan Gautreaux.
She is survived by daughters, Deborah Diket Gautreaux (Michael), Jodilynn Diket Fussell, Donna Diket Dobell (Terry), grandchildren, Chris Gautreaux (Shay), Darin Hebert (Kristal), Aaron Hebert and Daena Kiffe Walicky, Conrad Dobell and Spencer Dobell; great grandchildren, Amber Cook, Thomas (Tre') Hebert, Taylor Gautreaux, Trevor Hebert, Alex Gautreaux, Sydney Gautreaux, Robert & Marian Kate Walicky and Alivia Dobell; great-great- grandson, Kai Hebert. She leaves her cherished niece Sandra Gaudin Stubbs & nephew Calvin & wife Cheryl Gaudin and aunt Ruth & Bill Jacguillard.
Marian was raised and lived in Westwego and Marrero, LA. Upon graduation at 16, she entered the Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans and worked at Algiers General & West Jefferson Hospital where she was awarded the prestigious designation of the first Nurse of the year for the Greater New Orleans Area. She moved to Morgan City, LA and worked at Lakewood Hospital, Home Health Care, Morgan City Nursing Home & Fairview Hospital, lived in Bahrain for 12 years before moving to Gretna, worked at Wynhoven Nursing Care. She was always a member of the local Catholic Church & prayer groups. Marian loved and took care of every family member or friend in need. She enjoyed her later years with her loving grandson Darin Hebert & his loving wife Kristal.
The family would like to thank staff of Patterson Health Care where she resided for the last year.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street in Gretna on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2 PM. Interment will follow at St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Algiers. Visitation will take place at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday from 6 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Thursday from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.
