Marian Theresa Melancon Delhommer

Marian Theresa Melancon Delhommer, 85, a resident of Westwego, LA for 60 years passed away peacefully at Ochsner Foundation Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2015 while her daughter prayed the Rosary at her bedside.
Beloved wife of 52 years to the late George J. Delhommer, Jr. Loving mother of Jennifer Ledet Tassin. Mother-in-law of Arnold Tassin of Westwego, LA. Grandmother of Shonty (Karl) Tassin Schulze of Myrtle Beach, SC and Shantelle Tassin of Westwego, LA. Great-grandmother of Casside Parfait of Westwego, LA and Lake and Landyn Schulze of Myrtle Beach, SC. Special friend of Odette Hebert. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harris Melancon, Sr. and Amelia Bruce Melancon of Larose, LA and foster parents, Frank and Alcida Callais Bruce of Crown Point, LA. Sister of the late Jesty Melancon, Sr., Norman Melancon, Sr. (Ama Lois), Anna Belle Walker (Stanley), Elgin Melancon, Sr. (Iona) and Harris Melancon, Jr. Survived by two sisters-in-law, Irene Chiasson Melancon of Pass Christian, MS and Yvonne Dantin Melancon of Marrero, LA.
Marian worked for many years with the Louisiana D.O.T.D. She was a member of Ernest J. Tassin Senior Center in Westwego and a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor/Holy Guardian Angels Churches. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Westwego Benevolent Fund for use at the Westwego Senior Center, 401 Fourth St., Westwego, LA 70094.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1 PM. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Westwego. Visitation will take place on Friday from 6 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM.
