Marie Elizabeth Cortazzo, age 78 entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 4, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Russell J. Cortazzo, Sr. Daughter of the late John Guthrie and Elizabeth Higgins Guthrie. Beloved and devoted mother of Russell J. Cortazzo, Jr. (Janice) and Jean Cortazzo. Grandmother of Rachel Fernandez, Clade Fernandez, Timothy Fernandez and Nolan Fernandez (Jennifer). Step Grandmother of Ronald Heider, Blake Heider, Lily Fernandez and Liam Poche’. Sister of John Guthrie, Charles Guthrie (Bella) and the late Phillip Guthrie. Sister-in-law of Rose Rita Hamm, Anna Jean Cortazzo, Grace Hutson and Carol Cortazzo. Devoted friend of Pauline Lalla and Barbara Jean Robert. Marie was born in Dublin, Ireland and was a resident of Chalmette, LA for the past 4 years. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, July, 8 2014 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
