Marie Olivette Hebert Schouest, age 68, entered peacefully into heaven with the Lord Thursday morning, June 30, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 8, 1943 and was a lifelong resident of Marrero , LA. She graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1961. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband and best friend of fifty years. Ronald J. Schouest, Sr. aka “D.J. Rockin’ Ron.” Beloved and devoted mother of Ronald J. Schouest, Jr. (Angie) and Rod A. Schouest (Belinda). Beloved, devoted and adored grandmother of Rod Evans Schouest, Ronald J. Schouest III, Stephanie Schouest, Kasie Domangue and Kirk Camardelle. Beloved devoted and adored great grandmother of Anthony Schouest, Jarit Domangue, Blake Bordelon and Kale Domangue. Beloved and devoted sister of Onezime “Tut” Hebert (Rosalind) and RoseAnn Champagne (Ray). Also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and close friends of her two sons who she treated like her own kids, as well as family and friends who she loved very dearly. Daughter of the late Roosevelt J. and Rosie Scanio Hebert. She was a retired employee with the Jefferson Parish School Board after thirty three years of dedicated service. She enjoyed watching and doing things with her grandchildren and being with family and friends most of all. She loved cooking for everyone, baking Italian cookies, crabbing, music and dancing. As well as playing pokeno with her beloved sister and friends. Her greatest achievements have been in the lives of family and friends. Not only was she a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, she had a unique gift from God to make everyone feel loved. Her kind heart and brilliant smile made everything sparkle. Her generous heart also filled her home with love for family, friends, and fun, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. She was truly a blessing and treasure to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She forever will be loved and missed and surely not forgotten. “Mom this is not goodbye, it’s see you later in heaven.” Relatives and Friends of the Family, employees of the Jefferson Parish School Board, Lockeed Martin, and the Jefferson Parish Courthouse, and members of Abundant Life Church are invited to attend the Memorial Service, Pastor Jonas Robertson will be officiating in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego, LA. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital , 332 N. Lauderdale St . , Memphis, TN 38105.
