Marion Danjean McDermott

Marion Danjean McDermott passed away peacefully, at her home, on July 17, 2023 at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late John Michael McDermott Sr. Loving mother of John M. McDermott Jr., Kelly McDermott, Kevin J. McDermott (Jessica), and Shannan Brown (Henry). Doting grandmother of Jack, Kyle, Shane, William, Michael, Hunter, Gavin, Brendan, Mack, Cecilia, Anton, Ellen, and Dermot. Sister of the late Burnie Danjean, Helen Kirby, Dody McDonald, and Nookie Danjean. Daughter of the late Burnie Danjean Sr. and Irma Daigle Danjean. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marion was a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA and a devout parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Algiers. She was a member of the Ladies Guild, the Fatima Rosary Group, and a tireless volunteer for the Church. She always looked forward to Thanksgiving where she could cook and host her family’s dinner. She loved her grandchildren and spoiled them whenever she could. She will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3101 Eton Street in Algiers on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 9am to 11am. A Memorial Mass will follow.
