Marion Delbert O’Donley passed away on June 1, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Viola Coates O’Donley. Father of Ronald Michael O’Donley (Karen) and Nancy O’Donley Truxillo (Phillip). Grandfather of Lauren O’Donley Noel (Jude), Ashley Elizabeth O’Donley and Abby Elizabeth Truxillo. Brother of JoAnn O’Donley Edwards and Michael O’Donley. Son of the late Evva Gann O’Donley and Nathan Ross O’Donley.
Marion served in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 28, 1950 to April 1952. He is a veteran of the Korean War where he earned four Campaign Stars, three Presidential Unit Citations, two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star with the combat “V” for service with an infantry company of the Fifth Regiment, First Marine Division.
He was a member of several military organizations including the Chosin Few, composed of veterans of the Chosin Resovoir Campaign in North Korea during the winter of 1950.
Private funeral services were held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA. Interment followed at Westlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society (
