Marjorie Ball Brannen Pierce went home to meet her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of James E. Pierce by second marriage and the late John Cooke Brannen by first marriage. Mother of John David Brannen (Ruth), Janelle Brannen Harlan (Leo) and Matthew Stuart Brannen (Cara). Step-mother of Steven Wayne Pierce (Patricia), Scott Thomas Pierce (Joan), Christopher James Pierce (Ann Marie), Rebecca Anne Pierce and Melissa Pierce Flanagan (Keith). Grandmother of Sara Flanagan (P.J.), Justin Patterson (Ashley), Kathryn Ayo (Anthony), Kristyn Tipton (Micah), Ryan Harlan, Andrew Harlan and Jacob Harlan. Great-grandmother of Tyler Desoto, Hunter Flanagan, Benny Flanagan, Cooper Flanagan, Juliet Brown-Marshowsky, Brooklyn Patterson and her mother, Trisha Langley, Justin Patterson Jr., Austin Ayo, Kinley Ayo and Ellie Tipton. Step-grandmother of Patrick Flanagan, Michael Pierce (Brandi), Elizabeth Pierce, Thomas Pierce, Jeremy Pierce (Molly), Emily Pierce, Alexis Herty, Taylor Herty, Allen Pierce (Jill) and Stacy Pritchett (Bobby). Step-great-grandmother of Brookelyn Pierce, Katelyn Pierce and Harrison Pritchett. Sister of Lynda Wallace (Bill), Martha Grace Watkins (Bill) and Suellen Dooley. Daughter of the late Tinsye Crozier Ball and Amos Terrell Ball. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Marjorie was a resident of St. Charles Parish, LA for 49 years. As a devout Christian and member of Bible Center Church in Luling, she loved her family, church, studying and teaching the Bible, singing, reading and traveling. As a Bible teacher, she devoted much of her life to spreading God’s word to the women of St. Charles Parish and shared this thought with her family, “I want to be remembered as someone who lived her life to please the Lord Jesus Christ”. While she will be sadly missed, her home is in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Bible Center Church in Luling or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation ( www.komen.org ).
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Bible Center Church, 422 Barton Avenue (near US Hwy. 90) in Luling on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. Services will follow. Visitation will resume at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Drive, Huntsville, TX 77340 ( www.shmfh.com ) on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 12:30PM until 1PM. Graveside services will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Huntsville, TX.
