Marleen Sue Marmillion, age 72 passed away on June 13, 2012 from late stage lung cancer. Born and raised in Harvey and a 15 year resident of Algiers, LA. Daughter of Clara B. Bourke Marmillion and the late Alphonse Louis “Babe” Marmillion. Sister of Beverly M. Scioneaux (Earl) and David A. Marmillion, Sr. (Suzann). Survived by nieces Kathrina S. Kaufman (David), Ashley M. Munn (Brandon), Dana P. Pfister (Curt) and nephew David A. Marmillion, Jr. (Shelley) and the late Franz J. Scioneaux and Rhonda Vidrine. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews. Marleen loved and was devoted to her close knit family and many loyal friends. She was an active member and supporter of St. Rosalie Catholic Church in Harvey, belonged to the adult choir at St. Rosalie, and was a part of the music ministry since 1986. She regularly attended morning mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Stratford in Algiers. Relatives and friends of the family, St. Rosalie Sr. Choir and employees of Entergy, Bollinger Shipyards and Jefferson Parish School Board are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rosalie Church, 601 Second Avenue, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1 PM. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 1 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Special thanks to Dr. Vince Cataldo and the nurses and staff of Hematology and Oncology of Baton Rouge, St. Margaret’s Hospice and River Region Hospice House for their care and support, and to the family and friends that provided transportation and support during the five years of treatment.
