Marlin Gene Wandling

Marlin Gene Wandling passed away on September 29, 2011 at the age of 88 years. He is a native of Litchfield, IL and resided in Luling, LA for the past 45 years. Beloved husband of 64 loving and wonderful years to Jean Marie Cooper Wandling. Father of Nelda Christine Brescher (Edmond II) of Ponchatoula, LA, Patricia Lyn Picard (Michael) of Luling, LA, Aleta Marie Harmon (Mark) of Luling, LA and the late Val Cooper Wandling. Brother of Madalyn “Lyn” Stacey (Tom). Grandfather of Edmond B. Brescher, III and fiancé Lauren Mayer of Ponchatoula, LA, Lyn P. Bailey (Caleb) of Prairieville, LA, Jamie P. Booth (Blake) of Oxford, MS, CPO2 Michael J. Picard II, U.S.N., stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI, Stephen P. Picard (Blythe) of Metairie, LA, Val J. Harmon (Tiffany) of Luling, LA, Stacy H. Dampier (Derek) of Luling, LA, James Cooper Wandling of Louisville, KY and Sarah C. Cain (Rob) of Chicago, IL. Great-grandfather of Mikayla, Tristan and Landon Bailey, Montana, Sage and August Booth, Allie and Audrie Kate Harmon, Reid Dampier and Brandon Cain. Uncle of Cindy Stacey Carriere and Nancy Stacey. Also survived by other family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers. He is a 1951 graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts. He began his career at the Union Carbide Nuclear Corporation in Paducah, KY and worked at Union Carbide in Taft, LA from 1966 until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling and a charter member of the former Willowdale Country Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Lane in Luling on Monday, October 3, 2011 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will follow.
