Marsha Ann Scofield

July 16, 1964 — November 24, 2011

MARSHA ANN SCOFIELD, age 47, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011. Beloved twin sister of Martha Scofield Weedon and daughter of Jean Ann Scofield Neumann, she is survived by a brother, Mark William, a daughter, Ariel Marie, an aunt, Starr Scofield Chapman, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Leon Scofield, Jr., her grandmother, Rita Claire Scofield, and her grandfather, William Leon Scofield, Sr. Marsha attended local Catholic Schools and graduated from Seton Academy in 1982. Throughout her school years she studied and taught many forms of dance with her sister and her mother at Scofield School of Dance in Metairie and Kenner. She paraded during the Mardi Gras season for more than 25 years with the JASS Strutters. Marsha was an excellent dancer, a multi-talented dance instructor, and a kind and loving person who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her family expresses its deep gratitude to Dr. Edward J. Waitt, and the other physicians, nurses and staff of Ochsner Hospital, East Jefferson Hospital and Beacon Health Center for their excellent care, and for giving them 11 “bonus” years with Marsha. An artistic and detail oriented person, Marsha’s favorite colors were pink and blue. It is her request that Mark Villere of Villere’s Florist, 750 Martin Behrman in Metairie co-ordinate her floral arrangements. Services will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA at 1 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Visitation commences at 10 AM.
