Martha Ann Gill Cochran

Martha Ann “Boo” Gill Cochran received her angel wings at the age of 71 on February 23, 2014 in New Orleans, LA. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dees Gill, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O’Jennings Gill, maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Creaser Thomas, mother and father in-law, Mr. & Mrs. J. Lee Cochran, brother Gordon Thomas Gill and infant sister, Margret Irene Gill. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Jack Ray Cochran, her daughter Julia Ann Cochran Bourque and husband Craig, children Grace Ann Mabry Hill, Stephen and Megan Bourque, son Jonathan Ray Cochran and fiancé Shelly France, and her children Emma and Mitchell, and son James Gordon Cochran and wife Sharon, children Evan, Everett and Emerson; her sisters Gretchen Gill Bulloch and late husband Tommy, and Frances ”Fifi” Gill Martin and husband Donny. She was also the beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was loved by and loved many friends over the years, wherever she landed. She graduated in 1960 from Lake Charles High School and received an Associate Business degree from McNeese State University. She was the director of Aurora United Methodist Preschool for more than thirty years, where her love of children was abundant. Visitation will be on Saturday March 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Lake Charles, LA, from noon to 1:30 followed by a memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
