Martha Jane Fulmer

Martha Jane Fulmer, 70, of Gretna, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Martha was born on October 6, 1944 in Sour Lake, Texas to William Winston and Mary (Gohmert) Fehlis. She married the love of her life, William Madison "Bill" Fulmer, on December 22, 1963 at the Trinity Methodist Church in Buras, Louisiana. Martha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a very talented seamstress and an excellent cook. Martha loved to read and she was a true bibliophile at heart. Martha is survived by her daughter Mary and her husband, Bill; her son Sean and his wife, Dawn; her son Derek and his wife, Lisa; her grandchildren; Mike Holt and his wife, Liana; Jason Holt; Megan Fulmer; Bennett Fulmer and Winston Fulmer; her great grandson, Jesse Lane Holt; her brother Bill Fehlis and his wife, Cathy; her nephew, Will Fehlis; her beloved dog Abby; and numerous friends, all of whom loved and will miss Martha dearly. Martha was preceded by her parents, her husband and two daughters, Helen Fulmer and Shannon Fulmer. The family wants to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their condolences and the outpouring of love and support. A memorial service will be held at a later date and the family respectfully asks for some time and space in private to grieve for the loss of the loved one. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made in Martha's name to the charity of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA.
