Mary Lee Sonnier Fruge

Mary Lee Fruge died October 17, 2016 at the age of 82 years young at Belle Vie Living Center. She was born October 24, 1933 in Mallet, Louisiana to Harry and Doretha Sonnier. Mary Fruge was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana and later a resident of Harvey, Louisiana where she resided with her daughter, Audrey Thomas. Mary is survived by her sisters, brothers, daughters, and sons. Her sisters are Lois(Norris) Guillory, Jean(Gerald) Craven, and Vera Grant. Her brothers are Martin, Paul, and Harry Sonnier, Jr. Her children include Joanna Fruge, Audrey(Gerald) Thomas, James Fruge, and Bobby(Brenda) Fruge. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including her roommate, Jacqueline Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Doretha Sonnier, her husband, Rogers G. Fruge, her brother, Early Sonnier, , her sister, Barbara Gary, and her son, Jerry Fruge. Mrs. Fruge’s wish was to be cremated. A memorial visitation will be held at Church of Abundant Life located at 2301 Par 3 Drive, Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 2PM until 3PM. Memorial Services will be held at the church on Saturday at 3PM.
