Mary Lucille Gros

Mary Lucille Ritchie Gros, born on January 31, 1926, was welcomed to Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 20, 2013 at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Charles Gros. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Gros Johnson (Delbert); grandchildren, Melody Wood (Lee) and Ross Johnson (Anna); great grandchildren, Jonathan, Katherine and Anderson Wood, William and Carlton Johnson. She is also survived by her sisters, Dottie Lasserre (Joseph) and Sharon Parker (Harvey); brother, Harry Ritchie Jr. (Shirley) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry William Ritchie and Margarette Moore Ritchie; sisters, Kathleen Kauppala and Margaret Kiraly. Mary Lou was a graduate of Newcomb College and a retired school teacher of 20 years in Jefferson Parish. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marrero where she lovingly taught an Adult Ladies Sunday School class. The family would like to thank relatives, friends, caretakers and employees (past and present) of Woldenberg Village for their countless expressions of ministry, love and encouragement. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 8AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Interment will be held in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monore, LA 71211-4196.
