Mary Ruby Himel Pellegrin

Mary Ruby Himel Pellegrin passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late O’Neil Joseph Pellegrin, Sr. Daughter of the late Myrtile Lawrence Himel, Jr. and Felicia Gauthreaux Himel. Loving mother of Rickie Joseph Pellegrin (Wife, Karen) and the late O’Neil “OJ” Joseph Pellegrin, Jr. Grandmother of Neil Joseph Pellegrin and the late Steven Henry Pellegrin. Sister of Edward Hymel (Wife Estelle), Hazel Laplace (Husband, the late James) and the late Bernice Jones (Survived by Husband, Warren Jones, Jr.) and Howard “Joe” Himel. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was a lifetime member of McDonough 35 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was proud to be a Gold Star Parent. Ruby was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Gretna, LA. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the employees of Day Haven Day Care Center for their love and care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 8AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
