Mary Letty Ponce

Mary Letty Ponce née Thompson was born in La Ceiba, Honduras on the Nineteenth of January, 1931 to John Hall Thompson and Winifred Ventura Jackson. She was married on the Twenty-First of February, 1949 to Philip Lindbergh Ponce, the son of Philip Ponce and Leone Rubi. She was the mother of the Rev. Philip Ivoney Ponce, (Anne) Levy Austin Ponce, (Saira) Winnie Leonie Banks née Ponce, (Odley) the Rev. L. Timothy Ponce (Annie) and Gavin Ponce (Leslie). She was the proud grandmother of seventeen and the great grandmother of fifteen. She was a native of La Ceiba, Honduras, and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA. She departed this life in faith and assurance on the Eighth of October, 2011. May “Meme,” as she was known, rest in peace and in the loving arms of the Almighty. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the celebration of her life at the Faith Temple Church of God, 800 S. Jamie Boulevard, Avondale, LA on Friday, the Fourteenth of October, 2011 with a viewing and wake at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, the fifteenth of October, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
