Melva Matherne Simoneaux, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Simoneaux, Jr. Daughter of the late Paul Matherne and Christine Breaux Matherne. Mother of Elaine S. Gulizo (the late Victor), Michael P. Simoneaux (Molly), Arthur J. Simoneaux III (Brenda), Richard J. Simoneaux (BeBe), and Julie S. Coterillo (Rick). Former Mother-In-Law of Faye Simoneaux. Grandmother of Victoria, Christina, Thomas, Gerritt, Jeffrey, Melissa, Mandy, Michelle, Candace, Danielle, Amber, Dakota, Isabella and Gabrielle. Melva is also survived by 12 Great Grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Sister of Verniese M. Theriot, Ruth M. Daigle and the late Percy Matherne, Leroy Matherne, Lloyd Matherne, May M. Rogacki, Pearl M. Ross, Virginia Matherne, Jane M. Clement and Audrey M. Hedges. She was born in Pierre Part, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA for over 60 years. She was a member of AARP Chapter 2944 and C.O.D.O.F.I.L. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 9AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
