Melvin Gabriel Berthelot (Deputy Dawg) – A native of Livingston, La., and a lifetime resident of Marrero, LA passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the age of 81. A retiree of Halliburton Services and Northrop Gruman Ship Building. Beloved husband of Shirley Nicosia Berthelot; father of Melanie Berthelot and the late Larry Berthelot (Robin); grandfather of Chad Berthelot (Eugenie) and Nikki Raines (David); great-grandfather of Celise Raines, Maci and Matthew Berthelot; honorary father-in-law of Melissa Gehring Jones. Mel is preceded in death by parents Lawrence Berthelot and Vernice Berthelot Duet; step-father Charles Duet; and siblings Charles (Sonny) Berthelot, Norman Duet, and Juanita Duet Bennett. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA, at 7:30am followed by a mass in the chapel at 9:00am.
