Michael Scott Babineaux Sr.

Michael Scott Babineaux Sr., also known as Scott, a resident of Avondale, LA, born on January 18, 1970, has left a void in the hearts of many. He passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. 
 

Scott is survived by his mother, Gertrude Babineaux; sisters, Karen Laviolette (Roger Sr.) and Kim Babineaux; brother, Kevin Babineaux; his other siblings; Cathalene, Avis, and Debra; sons, Michael Scott Babineaux Jr. and Mason Babineaux; grandchildren, Aria, Blair, and Scott. He is also survived by Melissa Boudreaux, his former wife and mother of his children as well as several nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his late father, Percy Babineaux Sr., and brother Percy Babineaux Jr.

In his professional life, Scott was a dedicated employee at Inspection Specialists, Inc. where he exemplified excellence and precision through his work, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and expertise that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
 
Beyond his career, Scott found solace and joy in the rush of racing, whether it was cheering on his favorite drivers at the racetrack, cruising along the coast, or eagerly tuning into racing shows from the comfort of his home. A master craftsman and a true enthusiast, Scott poured his heart into his latest project, an '86 Camaro. He was getting it ready and looked forward to the exciting times he would soon have on the track.

The services to honor Scott's life will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072, on May 9, 2024 starting with visitation at 8:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., Terrytown, LA 70056.
