Michael Adam Burke, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of 54 years to Jane Hoar Burke. Son of the late Hilliet Joseph Burke, Sr. and Hazel Marie LeBlanc Burke. Father of Scott Michael Burke (Wife Jo), Mark Steven Burke (Wife Stephanie) and Michael Adam Burke, Jr. Brother of the late Hilliet “Pat” Burke, Jr. (Survived by wife, Barbara). Grandfather of Steven, Brandon, Linzy, Tyler, Alexis and Katie Burke and Megan Messmer. Great Grandfather of Cali Messmer and Aubree Richardson. Michael is a retired Policeman with Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and Gretna Police Department. He served in the United States Army for 4 years. Michael was a member of the FOP and American Legion Post 378. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff of Heart of Hospice especially, Linda, Donna and Valerie. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to Michael’s Caregiver, Kelly Vernor. Relatives and friends, also members of Harvey Golden Agers and Parishioners of St. Rosalie Catholic Church are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUENRAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 10AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
