Michael Walter Clark passed away on August 3, 2024 at the age of 74. He was a much beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.

Michael was born on December 15, 1949, in Gulfport, Mississippi, where he spent his childhood with his parents, Hurley and Yvonne, and siblings, Gayle, Tommy, Cheryl and Pat. He attended St. John Elementary and High School.

After graduating from Perkinston Junior College with a degree in drafting, Michael went to work for Shell Oil Company in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he met his wife of 53 years, Florence. He also worked at Brown and Russell in Gulfport, and Production Management Industries (PMI), Bay Limited, Lafitte, and Premier Industries in Harvey, Louisiana. He had a long and successful career, during which he made many friends, and over the years he influenced a multitude of colleagues, who remained close to him well beyond his retirement.

In 1981, he and Florence moved to Gretna, Louisiana. They bought and renovated a historic home and raised their three children. When he was younger, Michael enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Chopper Motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and making fires in his backyard firepit with a glass of wine.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Florence, his children, Michelle (Joe), Jacob, Hillary (Walter), his grandchildren, Ian, Maddie, Tim, Owen, Mathilda, Tate, Lukas, and Leo, his brother, Tommy (Nancy), his sister, Cheryl (Joe), and his many nieces and nephews.

Generous and kind, his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial gathering will be held at The Clancy House, 1922 Reverand Richard Wilson Drive in Kenner, LA on 08/24/2024 at 1pm.
