Michael Paul Dufrene Sr.

Michael Paul Dufrene, Sr. passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Shirley Belala Dufrene for 52 years. Loving father of Lori Dufrene Nicholas (husband Scott) and Michael P. Dufrene, Jr. (wife Donna). Grandfather of Amy N. Harvey, Danielle Nicholas, Mason P. Blake, Nicole Dufrene, Michael P. Dufrene, III, Gabe and Gabby. Great-grandfather of Anneliese Harvey and Ethan Kidd. Son of the late Whitney A. Dufrene and Lorraine Baudoin Dufrene. Brother of Alcide Dufrene, Gary Dufrene and the late Wayne Dufrene. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Michael was a Jefferson Parish bus driver for 34 years. He was retired with the Westwego Police Department and for the past 2 years a Lieutenant with the Westwego Police Department. He also was a volunteer with the Westwego Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations in his honor to the Westwego Police Department. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth Street, Westwego, LA on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 1PM. Interment will be private. Parlors will be open at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 6PM until 11PM and again Monday from 8AM until 12:30PM.
