Michael Charles Rantz

Michael “Mike” Charles Rantz passed away on May 6, 2023 at the age of 72.  Beloved husband of Cathleen F.  “Cathy” Rantz. Father of Michael Allan Rantz and Christine R. Watzke (Dennis). Son of Hazel Tish Rantz and the late Edward F. Rantz. Brother of Cynthia R. Clasen (Charles). Brother-in-law of Drs. Doug and Mary Lyles and their children are Jessica Lyles, Graham Lyles (Melisa) and Evan Lyles (Erin).  Grandfather of Roman Edward Watzke. Uncle of Craig B. Clasen (Susan) and their children, Rip, Max and Louisa and the late Dr. Charles T. Clasen, III, survived by his wife Dr. Stacey Clasen and their children, Katelyn and Emma. Mike was a quadriplegic for 40 years, yet he never missed family or friends’ special occasions. He was “Mr. Mom” and computer worker at home. The joys of his life were his friends, especially Dean Sutherland and family. Mike, his son, helped care for him. His daughter, Christy, was the loving girl he always wanted. But best of all was his grandson, Roman. Mike and his father planned and had a summer home built on ONO Island that was the gathering place for many years. All who knew him, loved him.  Services will be private.
