Michael F. Scott

Michael F. Scott, age 69 entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. He was surrounded by his family and close friends. He was a resident of Harvey for the past 47 years. Mike worked in the oilfield and retired from Jefferson Parish Recreation Department. Mike’s involvement in youth sports at Harvey Playground brought many championships and accolades, but also many lifelong bonds and friendships. He was not only a coach to his players, but a mentor, friend and father figure. He enjoyed many leisurely activities such as cooking, traveling with the Savoies, fishing, crabbing and especially playing golf. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Gause Scott; his father, Floyd Scott; his grandmother, Lena Gill and Scrappy, his beloved Sharpei. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Scott; his son, Roy J. Scott; his brother, Roy G. Scott and wife Paulette Scott; and his sister, Chrystle White. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family would like to thank the staff at Ochsner Hospital, and the staff in Ochsner ICU for their great care.
