Michael David Tucker

January 10, 1956 — April 30, 2024

Michael David Tucker, born in Spokane, Washington on January 10, 1956, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024 at the age of 68.  Mike, as his friends called him, was a resident of Terrytown for most of his life. He was an avid lover of motorcycles and cars, and he had an unbelievable talent for refurbishing them. He worked most of his life as an electrician, but he also worked at his parent’s lighting agency business, Lighting Sales & Design, Inc.  However, the occupation he found most fulfilling was working in the body shop at WestBank Collision Center, which he always said was not even like work because he enjoyed it so much.  He owned many cars and motorcycles throughout his lifetime and had a passion for restoring them all.   Mike was a true artist and craftsman. He loved creating things like copper wire trees (which he made for almost everyone) and sculptures out of acrylic, and he was skilled at drawing.  He loved music and enjoyed teaching himself how to play the guitar and drums.

He is predeceased by his father, Buddy Lee Tucker and his mother, Caroline Juanita Hewson Tucker. He is also predeceased by his son, David Michael Tucker. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Michelle Tucker (Keith) and grandson, Chase Edward Toms. He is also survived by his sisters, Julie Tucker Fernandez (David) and Sandra Lee Tucker, his nephews, David J. Fernandez, Jr. (Brooke) and Jared J. Fernandez (Stefan), and niece, Toni Fernandez Bodenheimer (Joshua). He is also survived by two grand-nieces and one grand-nephew that he loved as his own, Lainey Bodenheimer, Brock Bodenheimer and Gemma Fernandez. The family would like to thank Passages Hospice and all of the wonderful staff there. We also want to thank Ms. Patricia Martin for her bedside companionship to Mike in his final hours. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
