Milton Anthony Hymel

Milton Anthony Hymel passed away on February 23, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Rose Anderson Hymel. Father of Cathy Hymel Penneguy (Edward), Michael, Matthew and Mark Hymel. Brother of Arthur Hymel (Joy), Theresa Godt Tweed (Dewey), Leonie Hymel Farringer and the late Albert and Earl Hymel. Son of the late Dewey Joseph Hymel and Edith Rose Abreo Hymel. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren along with sisters and brothers-in-law Marie Reyes, Leota and Lito Ayuso, Kenneth and Juanita Gibbs, Joseph and Roxann Robar, Pete and Carmen Reyes and his nephew Cody Reyes.
Milton served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later retired as a District Chief with the New Orleans Fire Department after over 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, former Vice Commander, Commander, 2nd District Area B Commander and life member of the American Legion (formerly Post 344 in Lafitte, LA), 40 & 8, Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 59 F & AM, New Orleans Consistory, Shrine Klown Klub, Scottish Rite Bodies and Better Swamps and Gardens club.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 3245 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey, LA 70058.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 12 Noon until 2 PM. Services will follow.
