Morris Thomas Guidry, Jr.

Morris Guidry, 95 years old, of Marrero, LA, passed away on May 12, 2023. Morris was born on September 9, 1927 to Enola Adams Guidry and Morris Guidry, Sr. in Marrero, LA. After graduating from Marrero High School he joined the Navy and served as a MP. After World War II, he returned home and worked for Schlumberger, then managed his parents gas station until he built and owned a local hardware store. In the meantime, he drove a school bus for 30 years, and built several post office buildings. He loved dancing, fishing, boating, camping in his motorhomes, and vacationing in his cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN. He was a very social man with a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes.

After returning from World War II he met and married Beverly Gauthe, (deceased), and they had 3 children: Candy Hebert (Rick), Son, Todd Hebert, (Vanessa) their daughters, Alexis, Madeline, Sabrina; Steven (Paula), his son Brennan & daughter Chantelle Guidry Cassagne, (Johnny), their children, Bryson & Noelle; her son Tony Montoya (Esperanza), their daughter, Paula M. Montoya; and Randy (Becky Hart), his sons, Christopher, Dylan (Deceased), Daniel Guidry. Everyone who knew him will miss him greatly. Special thanks to Tammy Townsend and Becky Hart for being his longtime caregivers.

The Funeral Service will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until service time. Naval and burial services will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA immediately following.
