Muriel Beatrice Youngman Shelton

Muriel Beatrice Youngman Shelton, passed away at 6:02PM on February 26, 2013 at Jo Ellen Smith Nursing Facility. She was longtime secretary to Rev. L. R. Shelton, pastor of First Baptist Church/Tabernacle Baptist Church, Algiers , La. , from 1927 until his death in December 1971. She was his wife from 1967 until 1971. She was the daughter of Charles Frederic Youngman and Ellen Smith Youngman. Born in Laredo , Texas on December 3, 1920. She is survived by two sisters, Marguerite Faulk and Yvonne Dunaway and a nephew, Jeffrey Dunaway and the late Edward Dunaway, Jr. She had two great nephews, Jeffrey Dunaway, Jr., Sean Dunaway and one great niece, Alicia Dunaway Davis. She had two great nephews, Bryce Dunaway and Brandan Davis. She attended University of New Orleans and Delgado College where she graduated. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services at Mothe Funeral Homes, 1300 Vallette Street , New Orleans , LA on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Rev. Shaun Armstrong of Shreveport , La will officiate. Visitation from 9:30AM until funeral time. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna , LA.
