Murlin J. Pousson, born July 27, 1934 in Iota, LA entered eternal life on May 17, 2022 at the age of 87. He died peacefully at his home in Amite, LA. Prior to moving to Amite, he was a long term resident of Westbank areas of Terrytown and Harvey. Legally blind since birth, Murlin attended and graduated from the Louisiana School for the Blind in Baton Rouge, LA. Murlin spent over 35 years in the food service business as part of the RSVA in various Federal and State buildings. His dedication to the RSVA earned him the National Vender of the Year Award in 1993.
Murlin is survived by his wife of 66 years his beloved Betty Gaudet Pousson, his son Mark Pousson (wife Susan), two daughters Tammy Pousson Hamer and Lori Pousson Hamer (husband Kenny), 7 Grandchildren:(Tessa Pousson Vorhaben (Husband Quinn), Christopher Hamer (wife Alice), Jessica Hamer Braud, Danielle Hamer, Kenny Hamer, Krista Hamer (partner Chris Lucas) and Katherine Hamer and 10 Great-Grandchildren: Griffin, Harrison, Eleanor (Vorhaben), Emma and Ryleigh (Hamer), Ethan (Braud), Aiden (Bordelon), Karoline (Lucas), Paxton and Roman (Hamer), and numerous family relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Lames J. Pousson and his mother Lillian Miller Pousson, his sister Betty Pousson Alphonso, and two Great-Grandchildren Ethan and Clay Vorhaben. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA 70058, Visitation will be on May 27, 2022 at 11AM followed by mass at 1PM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
