Murphy Joseph Cheramie

Murphy Joseph Cheramie of Harvey, LA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the age of 85. Murphy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria T. Cheramie; his parents, Clayborne and Nellie Cheramie; and his siblings, Myrtle Boudreaux, Melvin Cheramie, and Morgan Cheramie. His is survived by his children, Gary Cheramie (Linda) and Monica Cheramie Kindscher (Jacob IV); grandchildren, Ryan Cheramie (Louise) , Dana Cheramie, Paul Cheramie (Soudakhanh), Erin Bowers, (Jason Wilcox), and Jacob Kindscher V; great-grandchildren, Conner and Eli Michel, Gavin Cheramie, and Elizabeth Cheramie; his brother, Claiborne ("Joe Clay") Cheramie and sister-in-law, Mary Nell Cheramie; as well as many neices and nephews. Murphy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired after 30 years of employment from Plexco. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Belleville Assisted Living, St. Margaret's Hospice and to Murphy's longtime friend, Lillian Badeaux. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Parlors will be open for visitation Saturday morning from 11am to 1pm.
