Nabil Hanna, 73, of Slidell, LA passed away peacefully at home with his family on the morning of October 10, 2014. He was born in Egypt and immigrated to the United States in the 1960's. He lived in Slidell since 1986 and worked as a biochemist and in the laboratory sales industry. He was a member of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church. He is survived by his three children Dr. Nora Hanna and her husband Dwayne Conner, Ninette Hanna Holbrook and her husband David Holbrook, Dr. Nicholas Hanna and his wife Mariam Hanna and their mother Phoebe Hanna. He was the proud grandfather of six beautiful grandchildren, Dakota, Caitlyn, Esabella, Jackson, Alexander, and Sophia. He was the son of Waheba Abdel Noor and Hanna Said and the oldest brother of his siblings, Kamil, Sohair, Odette and Gamil. He is also survived by his partner and caretaker, later in life, Madlane Atalla. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues over the years who loved his sense of humor and held him dear to their hearts. We pray that the Lord repose his soul in the paradise of joy and grant comfort to his family and friends.There will be a visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA 70058, Sunday October 12th from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held at St Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 5333 St Bernard Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122 on Monday October 13th at 11 am and a graveside service to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA 70056. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church.
