MSgt. Nace Patrick Prejean, U.S.A.F. (Ret.) departed this life on September 3, 2016 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. Survivors include his devoted wife, Kim; parents, Sarah and Carol Prejean; sisters, Belgium Coignet (husband, Dr. Kenneth) and Normi Donewar (husband, Barry); granddaughter, Catherine; nephews, Adam Coignet, A1C Barry Donewar Jr., U.S.A.F. (wife, Kristi), Nick Donewar and Cameron Donewar.
Nace graduated from West Jefferson High School, Class of 1977. He joined the United States Air Force, served at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA and Kunsan Air Force Base in South Korea. Following four years of active duty, Nace joined the Louisiana Air National Guard, 159th Fighter Wing, better known as “Bayou Militia” located in Belle Chasse, LA and proudly served until his retirement in 2003. His final deployment was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom following the events of September 11, 2001.
Nace was passionate in his love of his family and friends, planes and cars. Affectionately nicknamed “Speedman” by his friend Quint Davis, Nace was well known as a master race engine builder and also for the cars he owned. Nace never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generous and kind-hearted nature was certainly something that you would never forget. He will be sadly missed but his life will be celebrated.

Relatives, friends and members of the Louisiana Air National Guard 159th Fighter Wing are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
