Naim T. Afis passed away on November 2, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of Barbara Mitchell Afis. Father of Fieldon Todd Edwards, Allison Nicole Afis and Roxanne Afis. Grandfather of Sage Belle Ducoing and Alexis Rain Ducoing. Brother of Baberyah, Sharifah, Najeah, Kareem, Ali and Sabriah. Son of the late Bahiyah Abed Ali and Tawfiq Afis. A native of Nasiraya, Iraq. He retired as a civil engineer from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) after 40 years of service. During that time, he was the recipient of several State and National awards for uses of asphalt and concrete. Relatives, friends, employees and retirees of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1 PM.
