Ned Joseph Dufrene

Ned J. Dufrene, Sr. passed away on January 15, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Mazie Toups Dufrene. Father of Susan Dufrene, Julie Roussel (Percy), and Ned Dufrene, Jr. (Cathy). Son of the late Fernand J. Dufrene, Jr. and Leonise Lasseigne Dufrene. Brother of Joyce Boudreaux (the late Curtis) and the late Gladys LeBoeuf (late Magnus). Brother-in-law of the late Edward Toups, Jr. (late Brenda), the late Carol Morgan (Harry), the late Michael Elliott (Stephanie) and Gene Capdeboscq and Sylvia Toups. Grandfather of Ashley Rose and Scudday Roussel, Aaron (Ashley), Taylor, and Katie Dufrene. Great-grandfather of Nicholas Philip, III. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Age 89 years, born in St. James, LA, and resident of Westwego and Marrero, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for the Public Belt Railroad and then as an accomplished boat and homebuilder. He was an avid fisherman and vegetable gardener.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Parlor of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11 AM.
